SANTA CLAUS

Friday, May 1st, 2009

Saint Nicholas is the minor saint associated with Christmas. He was the bishop of Myra who used to provide monetary funds for poor girls to save them from prostitution. Later he became the Patron Saint of Greece and Russia. His cult disappeared after the reformation in all protestant countries of Europe. He was known as ‘Sinterklass’ in Holland. When this news was spread over to America, people called him as ‘Santa Claus’.

According to the Christian mythology, Santa Claus lives in the North Pole. He comes to every home on the day of Christmas and gives gifts to the children. He believes to turn our dreams and wishes true.
